In 2008 through the Decision number 9767/17.10.2008 CEDES CD was certified as Centre for Research, Development and Innovation, evaluated by the Advisory Board for Research, Development and Innovation.

CEDES CD performs the following activities in research-development:
• projects for development of the territorial tourism potential and touristic potential areas
• periodical studies and analysis of internal and external tourism services market situation (on countries and geographical areas of interest)
• forecasts, marketing strategies and policies for tourism services
• studies and applications for evaluation and raising efficiency of health services performances
• providing specialized technical assistance, in order to test and apply developed techniques and studies and to provide appropriate community healthcare training
• medical and social services quality assessment studies (community health care, social community work, reproductive health, etc.)
• evaluation studies of the medical - social programs at the level of population and health services providers
• publishing articles in professional journals
